“Education either functions
as an instrument to...bring about conformity or it
becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate
in the transformation of their world" ~Paulo Freire

Thank you to all of our community partners!

We would like to dedicate this page to all of our community partners. Thank you for all of your support!

First and foremost, we would like to thank BelAir Cantina. Since July 2013, BelAir has collaborated with Escuela Verde to host a work study program for our students. Once per quarter (every three months), EV students are invited to apply and interview for a paid position at BelAir’s East Side location. Two to four students are chosen per session, and those students are hired on as employees at BelAir.

This is an amazingly valuable experience for our students. In a time of job scarcity and high unemployment, this opportunity gives our students the initial work experience that many employers require when hiring. BelAir has also participated in fundraising efforts for Escuela Verde, featuring one of our own student’s taco creations on their menu with the proceeds going to EV.
